“Maina“ is a special word for the city of Plovdiv. Some people say it comes from the word “mother”. It is an important element of every sentence of the local people. “Maina“ brings emotion and passion, which exists only here and for many Bulgarians “maina” is the natural nickname of Plovdiv. 

If this is the first time you hear about Maina Town, this is an imaginary world, created by group of creative artists in the early 2015. This world is inhabited by superheroes, protectors of the sacred Ayliak, muses and number of other known and unknown personalities. The stories of Maina Town can be found in our comic books: Plovdiv Fantasy Guide and Plovdiv Fantasy History.  

For all of you who love comic books we have started a series of magazines under the name Maina Town. Since September 2023 we have started our first foreign edition dedicated to Berlin. You can find Berlin by Maina Town magazine for free in many locations across Berlin. Enjoy!
